RWI009 Marina Bay RV Resort - Kemah Texas
We arrived in Kemah on Jan. 28th and booked a spot for 1 month at Marina Bay RV Resort. The park is divided into 3 sections.
They have an area that is for adults only (21 and over) that has its own pool and bathroom facilities.
The middle area where the office is located is where the short term stay area is and has a pool by the office, bathroom facilities, and a fitness room.
The 3rd area is where extended stay residents are located. It has a pool, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.
They also offer cabin rentals. Our friends came to visit for the weekend during Mardi Gras and they stayed in a Medium sized cabin for $150 per night with $50 cleaning fee. Cabins were updated and nicely decorated with a full size kitchen.
We stayed in the extended stay area. This area has quite a few kids who you can often find outside playing when the weather is nice. Over all the park is very nice.
All of the facilities look like they have recently been remodeled, and while we were here our laundry facility in the long term area received new washing machines.
There is a bayou that runs along the back of the park with a small boardwalk you can fish off, and a couple of gas fire pits that they light each evening.
I would say our only complaint is that the sites are really close together. We kind of felt like sardines packed in there.
Our rate for the extended stay was $592/mo with an electric deposit of $150.
There was a $50 deposit when I made the reservation, and our electric ended up costing us $135.36 for the month at a rate of .12cents/ kWh.
We also got a mail box for the month which was $11/mo plus a $25 deposit for the key.
Additional daily rate was $49/day for the extra 3 days we stayed.
The overall total for the month + 3 days was $877.36.
There is lots to do near by as long as the weather plays nice. (Our experience during the month of February was a lot of rain and colder weather.).
The Kemah Boardwalk is approximately 1 mile from the rv park which offers amusement rides, restaurants like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co and The Cadillac Bar, and small boutique shops.
Houston’s Johnson Space Center is about 4 miles and is a wonderful place for the young and old lovers of space to explore.
Galveston is about a 25 minute drive with lots to do on the island. We were lucky enough to be there at the kick off of Mardi Gras and Galveston has a really fun celebration with parades all day and into the evening and bands that play at night.
