We stayed at the KOA in Anthony TX just outside of El Paso while I visited a childhood friend. It is basically a really big parking lot with full hookups. The spots are all big, and they have a small facility that houses the laundry and bathrooms.

Laundry cost:

$1.25 /wash

.25 per 12 min/dry

While we were there there were very high winds with some into the 50’s and 60’s, and the dust was crazy! After the winds had passed, I thought for sure I was going to walk outside and find our paint sandblasted of the side off our rig.

Luckily that wasn’t the case. We did have fridge issues, and called Double T RV Service while we were there. They came out the same day and helped us diagnose the problem. They charge a $100 trip out fee, and would have helped us with getting it fixed, but once we knew what the problem was we fixed it ourselves.

Don will go into more detail about that in his blog.  Click Here for Don’s Blog on El Paso

The area does have some beautiful views as the park is right next to the Franklin Mountains. There are hiking trails near by. We went to the Franklin Mountain State Park on the Tom Mays access road. The views are spectacular especially when the sun is setting, and there is even a trail that leads to a cave.

We ate dinner one night with my friend Kris and her husband Wayne at their restaurant Great American Steakburger in El Paso, and thank you again. Everything was wonderful and I really loved getting to see you after all these years! ( it has been 35 yrs)

Our cost for a 4 day stay was $144.
