RWI011 Carthage RV Campsite Review - Carthage TX
We arrived in Carthage Tx. on Feb 28. (Carthage is approx 45 min SW of Shreveport La.).
I have a bit of family that lives in the area, so we stopped for a visit before heading west.
We stayed at the Carthage RV campground on NE loop 59 for one week.
We loved the space between each site compared to our last spot in Kemah. I’ve decided I now have a new minimum in space requirements! We ended up in a back in space, but because it was located on the last row of back ins just before the pull-thru sites, we were able to pull-thru into our space.
The site pad was 27 x 60 with a lot of space behind us. At the back of the propriety there is a pond with a dirt road that goes around it. Great walk for the dogs.
There is a recreation room that has a ping pong table with paddles and balls, tv, vhs tapes, and books. In the same building you will find the laundry room with washers and dryers that are in good condition, and will cost you $1.25/ load to wash and same to dry, and you with find the bathrooms with showers.
The facilities were very clean and well kept. They also have propane on site, which was really awesome since we had temps drop into the 20’s on us while we were there and I had to refill the tanks.
Campground cost $218 for one week. The staff there was very friendly.
If you are looking for things to do in the area Carthage itself has the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Shreveport La is a 45 min drive and they have casinos there in if you enjoy that.
